Immigration Information (non-Barbadians)
Student Visa Requirements
⚡ Important: Complete All Forms Correctly and in Full
Incomplete or incorrectly completed immigration forms will result in delays to the processing of your student visa. Please ensure that all required sections, as outlined below, are completed in full before submission.
Consequences of non-compliance may include disruption to your academic status, potential enrollment issues, and immigration complications. All non-Barbadian students are required to maintain a valid student visa throughout their period of study, regardless of how long they have been studying at UWI Cave Hill Campus.
Required Documents
New students must submit the following documents along with the acceptance forms:
- Completed Immigration Forms
- Form H-1 (Application for Entry Permit)
- Form H-2 (Student Information Form)
- Passport photograph (1 passport-size photo with white background - must be wearing a top with sleeves)
- Certified Copy of passport biodata page (clear, legible copy)
- Certified Copy of birth certificate (clear, legible copy)
- If not in English, must include certified English translation
- Proof of roundtrip airline ticket
- Proof of financial support (as indicated on Form H-2)
HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR IMMIGRATION FORMS

Form H-1 Instructions:
Complete the following sections:
- First 2 lines: Name, Date of birth, Country of birth, Country of nationality
- Question 2
- Question 5a

Form H-2 Instructions:
Complete all questions 1-10:
- Question 5 is critical: State your source of financing (loan, scholarship, government funding, parents, self-funded, etc.) and submit proof
- Sign and date the form
- Include your intended Barbados address in the box under your signature (leave blank if not yet secured - do not write "N/A")

Non-Contributing Country Nationals: BBD $300.00 (USD $150.00)
Contributing Country Nationals: No fee
Payment Method:
Touchnet Online Facility or wire transfer payable to "The University of the West Indies"

Students from these countries are not required to pay the visa application fee:

Important Timeline
Submit your visa documents no later than September 30, 2026.
✓ Submit hard copies only with your acceptance forms
✓ Allow adequate time for processing - delays can affect the processing of the student visa
Travel Requirements
When travelling to Barbados:
✓ Valid passport - Must cover your entire period of study
✓ Roundtrip ticket - Required for entry
✓ Acceptance letter - Carry a copy for immigration officials
✓ Proof of accommodation
✓ Proof of financial support - As submitted with visa application

Change of Address Form
All international and regional students are required to complete this form. The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus must have your current address on record at all times. Failure to update your address may affect your immigration status.
