The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus offers a wide range of undergraduate degree programmes across seven (7) Faculties. Entry requirements vary by Faculty and programme. We invite all prospective applicants to review our Undergraduate Entry Requirements Booklet carefully before submitting an application.
The Booklet provides comprehensive information on qualification pathways for each Faculty and programme, proficiency testing requirements, and the University's foreign language requirement.

How to Use the Booklet
- Identify the Faculty under which your intended programme is offered.
- Navigate to the relevant Faculty section and review the entry requirements for your specific programme, including both general matriculation requirements and any programme-specific conditions.
- If you do not hold CAPE or GCE A-Level qualifications, check whether you qualify through an alternative pathway — for example, via an Associate Degree, Mature Student entry, or equivalent qualifications recognised by the University.
- Depending on your qualifications and nationality, you may also be required to sit the ELPT, the MPT, or satisfy the University's foreign language requirement. Refer to the relevant sections of the Booklet for details.

Programmes may be subject to minimum enrolment requirements. The University reserves the right to cancel or defer any programme at any time where these requirements are not met.
Received a Notification Regarding Your Application?
If you have received a notification advising that your application was unsuccessful for your chosen programme, please follow the steps below before contacting the Admissions Office.
- Open the Booklet and locate your Faculty section. Using the table of contents, navigate directly to the Faculty under which your intended programme is offered.
- Review the entry requirements for your programme in full, noting both the general matriculation requirements and any programme-specific conditions that apply.
- Check whether an alternative pathway applies to you. The Booklet includes information on alternative entry routes, including Associate Degree holders, Mature Students (21 years and over), transfer applicants, and holders of equivalent qualifications. These are outlined within each Faculty section and in the introductory pages of the Booklet.
- Contact the Admissions Office if you have further questions. If, after reviewing the Booklet and you believe you meet the entry requirements or qualify via an alternative pathway, please contact your Admissions Officer via the contact directory. Kindly have your application reference number and relevant supporting documents available when you do so.
