About the Programme

Develop integral business management knowledge needed to occupy leadership roles in today’s global economy. Navigate the ever-evolving global business and economic environment through the acquisition of in-depth knowledge of functional areas of business and management such as accounting, finance, marketing, operations management and strategy as well as knowledge of the humanistic and behavioural component of business and management.

What Will I Study?

  • How to model industry best practices through the interplay of sound business and management theory and practice. 
  • How to build practical management competence through engagement with various business practices, industry stakeholders and practitioners.
  • The functional areas of business, digital business, big data and business analytics as well as business strategy. 
  • How to engage in the global business environment through sessions in CV preparation, public speaking, social and business etiquette and ethics in business.
  • A range of analytical modelling approaches used to support business decisions. 
  • How corporations create and capture value as multi-business enterprises.

Facilities and Resources

Textbook Package - Textbooks (printed or electronic) are provided for all registered students. The package fee is included in the programme cost, and students are allowed to keep all of the course materials on completion of the course of study.

Research

Our Faculty conducts research in a wide cross-section of areas related to management, including but not limited to, leadership, workplace bullying, psychometric assessment, entrepreneurship, business development, marketing, consumer behaviour, e-learning readiness, industrial psychology, ethics, finance and investments, and accounting theory and practice.

Programme Fees (as at August 2023)  = BDS $ 32,000. 
University Registration Fees (as at August 2023) = BDS $ 540 per semester:
University fees comprise of Guild and Amenities Fees. They are not charged in the summer semester.
Please note that fees may be adjusted for academic year 2023-2024. 

Entry Requirements for Degreed Applicants
 

i. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a university or college acceptable to the University of the West Indies, with at least Second Class Honours.

• Students are expected to have a good grounding in a business subject such as management, marketing, finance, or economics.

• Students with 'Pass' degrees will be considered on the following conditions:
     - they are currently working in a business or management related field, and;

     - they are successful at an interview conducted by the entrance committee within the Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management .

ii. Three (3) years post degree work experience.

iii. The ability to commit themselves to a rigorous 18 months for the Accelerated programme or 24 months for the Regular programme.

iv. An interview with the entrance committee within the Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management.
 

Entry Requirements for Non-Degreed Applicants
 

The Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management is considering opening its doors to a restricted number of non-degreed individuals. It is expected that the number of students entering the programme through this route would be highly restricted and should represent no more than 25 percent of the cohort in any given year. Students entering through this route may be required to undertake a preliminary year of study. The entry criteria for these students would therefore be:

i. Technical certificates or diplomas that can be assessed by the University of the West Indies.

ii. Five years’ experience in a business or management related field at a Supervisory or higher level.

iii. They are successful at an interview conducted by a selected panel determined by the Campus Committee on Graduate Studies and the Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management.

iv. Two strong letters of recommendation.
