Applicants to the UWI / CAE Aviation Ground School ATPL Program are required to successfully complete the CAE ADAPT (Aviation Diagnostic and Pre-selection Test) as part of the admissions process. The ADAPT assessment evaluates an applicant’s aptitude for professional pilot training.

A US $365 assessment fee applies to the ADAPT Test.

Assessment Areas The ADAPT test may evaluate:

  • Numerical reasoning
  • Spatial awareness
  • Multitasking ability
  • Situational awareness
  • Memory and concentration
  • Logical reasoning
  • English comprehension (The assessment may be conducted online or at an approved CAE testing centre.)

ADAPT Test Requirement Applicants must:

  • Successfully complete the CAE ADAPT aptitude assessment
  • Achieve a score meeting CAE and UWI Aviation program admission standards

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Class 1 Medical Certificate issued by the Barbados Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) and the FAA.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be able to legally live and work in at least one of the CARICOM member states (Barbados, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Bahamas, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, Grenada, Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Guyana, Suriname, Haiti, Belize, Montserrat). Candidates from other countries may be admitted at the discretion of the Parties.
  • Applicants must be a minimum age of 18 at the start date of the programme.
  • Applicants must display fluency in English (written and spoken) - a minimum of ICAO Level 4 English Language proficiency.
