“Maximising Resilience Through Education: Innovation, Sustainability, Inclusion and Impact”

We are pleased to announce the CERC/SOE 2025, Conference to be held on March 12-14, 2025, in, Barbados.

About the CERC/SOE 2025 Conference on Education

Discourses on how resilience is situated as a driving force in policies and practices across the globe illuminate and engender the shape of adaptability in times of transition, This includes navigating education transitions during uncertain times, dealing with the intersection of change and resilience, and understanding how learners, practitioners, and leaders can drive change. These stakeholders are part of complex social, cultural, political, ideological and personal circumstances, and current experiences of change will depend in part on some old patterns but more importantly on how these paradigms are revived for new growth and how resilience informs innovation, sustainability, inclusion and impact across age, gender, social class, culture, ethnicity, varying abilities and more.

Cultivating a resilient mindset requires a multidisciplinary response. Awareness of how resilience cuts across and is maximized by the world of education and its subdisciplines has a significant impact on worldwide policies and practices. As such, there is an urgent need for a multifaceted approach to one of the core issues of the current moment, namely resilience and its currency, development and expansion through education. Policies, practices and ideologies of education help define and determine ways in which resilience is perceived, enabled and practiced. Leveraging resilience, as a response, is one way of sustaining systems such as education, during times of uncertainty.

The CERC/SOE 2025, Conference is an inaugural forum being hosted by the Caribbean Education Research Centre (CERC) and the School of Education (SOE), UWI Cave Hill Campus in Barbados, with the collaboration of RISE Caribbean project.
