Bio

Bernaldino Pech, a Belizean national, has over thirty years experience in the education. He holds a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida. He started his career as a high school teacher before becoming a high school principal. He later moved to the Ministry of Education in Belize as a Researcher/Planner where he led and collaborated on several research projects and education sector analyses. During the COVID pandemic, he designed, implemented, and analysed several educational surveys that engaged various educational stakeholders in Belize. 

Since retiring from the Ministry of Education, he engages as a education and social science consultant where he has been engaged in diverse projects ranging from a qualitative research on the effect of price increases on food security and child nutrition in Belize to preparation of the Belize country report on the Montevideo Consensus on Population and Development. He has also been engaged in collect baseline data for a regional project to reduce adolescent pregnancy in vulnerable populations in select communities across Central America and Belize. He is also currently engaged as a monitoring and evaluation specialist for the Caribbean Educational Research Centre (CERC) housed at the Cave Hill campus of the University of the West Indies.
