The University of the West Indies remembers Professor Kamau Brathwaite as a towering, 20th Century man of letters, a Caribbean intellectual whose erudite and often searing scholarship as an historian, literary artist, poet, teacher and critic, cemented his place in the Caribbean intellectual tradition and carved an indelible mark on the global cultural landscape.
