Undergraduate Scholarships 2026/2027


Applications are now open for the following scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year:

The Kittitian Scholarship

  • Value: US$3,000 for one year
  • Be a national of St. Kitts;
  • Be registered in any programme in any faculty at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus;
  • Have completed at least one year of their degree programme;
  • Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0; and
  • Demonstrate active involvement in co-curricular activities.


P. J. Patterson Endowment Fund Scholarship

  • Value: US$2,000 – US$3,000
  • Be a Caribbean national;
  • Be registered in the Faculty of Social Sciences pursuing a B.Sc. in Political Science, or in the Faculty of Law pursuing an LL.B. degree;
  • Be entering Level II or Level III of their programme of study; and
  • Have attained a minimum GPA of 3.0, based on the results of the previous academic year's examinations.


Sylvan & George Alleyne Social Work Scholarship

  • Value: The scholarship covers the cost of tuition only.
  • Maximum Tenure: One (1) year
  • Be registered in an Undergraduate Degree programme at The University of the West Indies in the Faculty of Social Sciences pursuing a B.Sc. in Social Work; and
  • Be entering the final year of their programme of study.
  • The scholarship will be awarded based on: Academic performance, as demonstrated by the results of the previous academic year's University examinations, with a minimum GPA of 2.5;
  • Demonstrable involvement in co-curricular activities; and
  • Verifiable financial need.


The UWI Toronto Gala Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship funded through the annual UWI Toronto Benefit Gala. It is intended to assist academically strong students who demonstrate financial need and are actively involved in co-curricular activities.

  • Scholarship Value: Amount: CAN$3,000
  • Maximum Tenure: One (1) academic year.
  • Be a national of a CARICOM country.
  • Be registered full-time in an undergraduate degree programme.
  • Be enrolled in one of the following faculties: Engineering; Medical Sciences; Science and Technology; Sport; Humanities & Education; Social Sciences
  • Be entering Level II or Level III of their programme.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Demonstrate: Strong academic performance; Participation in co-curricular/community activities
  • Verifiable financial need.

The American Foundation for The University of the West Indies (AFUWI) Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship that supports outstanding UWI students from across the Caribbean who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement.
  • Scholarship Value: US$2,000 – US$5,000
  • Maximum Tenure: One (1) academic year.
  • Be a national of a CARICOM country.
  • Be registered full-time in an undergraduate degree programme.
  • Be enrolled in one of the following faculties: Medical Sciences; Science and Technology; Humanities & Education; Social Sciences
  • Level II or III (Humanities & Education, Science & Technology, or Social Sciences), or Level IV or V for Medical Sciences students (MBBS or DDS).
  • Academic performance (minimum GPA of 3.0)
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Participation in co-curricular and/or community activities.

Interested students are encouraged to complete the Scholarship Application and submit all required supporting documents (scholarships@cavehill.uwi.edu) by the deadline. Applicants should ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements and provide all necessary documentation, as incomplete applications may not be considered.
