Orientation
Your orientation to the University plays a major role in preparing you for success as a student. There are several stages of Orientation:
Undergraduate Students
New Student Orientation
There is a general New Student Orientation for all incoming undergraduate students. This comprises:
- An Online Self-paced Orientation
- Parents and Partners Forum
- A range of exciting Freshers’ Week social and networking events (Semester 1 only)
Faculty Orientation
There is a general New Student Orientation for all incoming undergraduate students. This comprises:
- An Online Self-paced Orientation
- Parents and Partners Forum
- A range of exciting Freshers’ Week social and networking events (Semester 1 only)
Graduate Students
A general Orientation Forum for all new graduate students will take place in August 2026. This will be preceded by Briefing/Advising Meetings with Programme Coordinators for students in Taught Programmes (for some taught programmes, these briefing may come after the general Orientation Forum). For Research Students a briefing and meeting with the Director of the School for Graduate Studies and Research and Research Supervisors will be held in August 2026.
Other Orientation activities planned for graduate students include the following:
- Developmental Information Sessions/Workshops
- An online self-paced orientation site (available from August 1)
Students entering in semester 2 will be advised by their coordinators regarding orientation.
