A prominent Black Studies scholar in the United States is recommending that school curriculums in Caribbean states undergo a serious reexamination to remove all attempts at miseducation.
Georgia State University Professor Joyce King said this miseducation has been perpetuated in education systems worldwide, including in the United States, and has contributed to what she described as a civilizational crisis.

As the Caribbean grapples with rising rates of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), The UWI Cave Hill campus has reaffirmed its commitment to contributing to shaping health policy in the region.
 
Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Law, Nicole Foster, gave that commitment at a recent virtual panel discussion jointly hosted by the UWI and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) on the topic ‘Health Policy Development in the Caribbean: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities’.

At the sitting of its University Finance and General Purposes Committee (U-F&GPC) on October 27, 2021, The University of the West Indies (The UWI) ratified the Naming Committee’s decision to convert the P.J. Patterson Centre for Africa-Caribbean Advocacy into a University Institute.

Two lecturers at The UWI Cave Hill Campus have been recognised for outstanding work during this academic year by the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). Lecturer in Chemistry in the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences, Dr. Leah Garner-O’Neal, and Lecturer in Management, Sonia Mahon, received the CETL Partner Award on Tuesday during the Centre’s Virtual Teaching and Learning Week, for going beyond the call of duty to work in partnership with CETL.
