TEM Summer School - Shawn Pilgrim
Shawn Pilgrim TEM Summer School provides you with the opportunity to learn a lot both inside and outside of the classroom. The program is well structured…every day we had a different class with a different professor and the professor are very knowledgeable in their fields.
Outside the classroom, you are provided with opportunities to learn about the different cultures through interacting with all the students. And voila! before the program is over you have already made friends from all over the world.
My time at summer school gave me the opportunity to spend time with great people from so many different cultures and in some ways has changed my perspective of different cultures.

Looking back on my experience I have to say it was truly great, I really enjoyed my time there. All in all I sincerely thank God I was able to go. It was truly an experience I will always remember fondly. Lastly, I must stress this; I highly doubt anyone goes on exchange just to do basically the same work that can be done at UWI. BALANCE IT!! Have fun and truly try to see as much of the place as possible. I hope that you enjoy your experience there and make the most of it, God Bless..........

I am actually swamped with work most of the time but the times that I am not, I am actually enjoying it here so far. The people are very nice and I been playing volleyball and also participating in different activities in my house against other houses. Day before yesterday we had an Iron Chef competition against 3 other houses, and my house won......I did most of the dessert and put the special ingredient in it that gave us the victory..........CINNAMON :) lol. Before that we played American football and won that too. So it was quite fun. I also forgot to mention that about 2 weeks ago my house played American football against one of the other houses that was also defeated in the Iron Chef competition. And guess what? We won that too...and guess what else........I SCORED THE WINNING TOUCHDOWN TO WIN THE GAME. LOL. Imagine that.

I just got back from a fun night at the pub which was really cool. I'm enrolled in my courses and they are going well. I'm loving York. The Global House residence is really nice and the classes are very interesting so far.

First Week of Semester
Canada is wonderful. Classes have started and the lectures are much smaller than back home and it provides you with the opportunity to ask questions and it's much more student friendly; it's alot like our tutorials. Living on-campus is great, we do alot of activities as a community for instance we played a game called ''catchphrase'' this week and there is a beach volleyball match against each house on Sunday; my block/house is the herons and hopefully we will come out victorious. (just imagine inter-house sports). It's a great experience so far no complaints at all would definitely recommend it to everyone.
The Rest of Semester
HECTIC!!! With assignments, group projects and midterms like every second and I'm only doing 4 courses this semester so imagine persons who are doing more than me...may God be with them lol. But on a brighter note I went to Niagara Falls, it was greattttt had lots of fun was an awesome experience. There is also a lot of activities hosted by a couple of groups that I'm in like a C'bean inspired fete and paintball and then there is this fund raiser for charity. It's AWESOME =) just have to know how to manage your time. I'm also volunteering for Red Cross and other clubs and me a couple persons from Mona and Cavehill Campus plan to go Wonderland that should be fun. I'll keep you posted.
