Projects

As part of the IGDS’ continued commitment to enhancing our capacity to produce and disseminate critical scholarship, pedagogy, policy and action in gender and development toward a fully inclusive Caribbean, the unit undertakes a number of research projects and initiatives. These initiatives may be in the form of new or continued collaborations with governments, CSOs or other University partners. Details on our ongoing projects are outlined in the following sections:
 
Livity Project

Livity Project

Launched in 2018, the LIVITY project represents a collaboration between the IGDS: NBU, the BCD and ECADE aimed at meaningfully addressing marginalization of persons living with disabilities, LGBTI Caribbean citizens, women, girls and youth in national and regional decision-making processes.

In 2018, the IGDS:NBU begun its collaboration with the University of Oxford and Tulane University on the Promoting Agency Trust and Hope among Incarcerated Barbadian Youth Project.

CIGAD is the region's premier, biennial, gender and development certification programme administered by the Institute for Gender and Development Studies: Nita Barrow Unit.
