Bio
Dr. Renderos is a lecturer in Political Science at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill (UWI). Prior to coming to UWI, Dr. Renderos taught in Nicaragua, El Salvador, and USA. Dr. Renderos is an active member of the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA), American Political Science Association (APSA), Latin American Studies Association (LASA), serving as President for ASPA’s International Chapter for two consecutive terms, chair of the Section on Democracy and Social Justice, and as LASA’s board member for the Central American Studies section. For his contributions to ASPA’s International Chapter, Dr. Renderos received the Mary Hamilton Award (2020) and Best Professor of the Year Award (2014) at Keiser University. In El Salvador, Dr. Renderos was campaign manager for a Salvadorean businessman aspiring for a seat in the Salvadorean Legislature and adviser to new political movements and political parties in formation

Research Areas
Dr. Renderos’ research has taken him to Central America, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, North America (Canada, USA, & Mexico). His research covers the areas of political reforms, peace accords and negotiations, democracy, social justice and equity, transnational crime-criminal gangs, human resource reforms, health disparities, immigration, homelessness, and LGBT issues. His articles have appeared in Public Administration Review, Public Integrity, Journal of Cultural Marketing Strategy, International Journal of Innovative Science & Research Technology, International Journal of Education & Social Sciences, American International Journal of Social Science, Journal of Peace & Conflict Studies, amongst others.
