Therese James is a Lecturer in Social Work and Director of Field Education at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Cmapus and was coordinator for the undergraduate social work programme (2018-2021). In 2018 she received a UWI Guild of Students/CETL Award for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning in Recognition of High-Quality Teaching and Learning. In 2021 she was awarded the UWI Cave Hill PULSE Points Annual Award which recognizes staff for service excellence in the areas of exceptional attentiveness,efficiency, and courtesy. She is also a trainer and faciliaties training in mentorship and supervision within various government ministries. Her current research interest is in field education, community practice, child abuse and ageing. She is a member of the Association of Caribbean Social Work Educators (ACSWE) and the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW).
