My time at the Cave Hill Campus has been one of great reward. Although I have been able to maintain a first class honours GPA thus far, the road to such success has been filled with many challenges. I have however discovered one of the greatest secrets to overcoming any hurdles faced and that is, a good support system. Many are not fortunate to meet individuals who endure with them throughout the three year journey, but it is indeed possible as it was in my case.

Moreover, this support system does not only extend to friends and family but to the staff of the School of Education. Any academic difficulties were rectified speedily and efficiently by individuals like Mrs. Pounder who has now left us in the capable and caring hands of Mrs. Downes. I say this to affirm that you are never alone within the School of Education.

I have been blessed with the privilege of meeting lecturers who are truly accommodating in every sense of the word and ultimately wish to see you succeed. I also gained much peace in knowing that the intimacy of small classes will not be lost within the School of Education. University classes tend to be large and may serve as a major hindrance for certain individuals in their educational experience. Rest assured that this has not been the case for me. Consequently, my learning experience has been a very productive one.

Make the School of Education your choice and I guarantee you will leave with no regrets. Finally, I encourage you to not only focus on academics but also on other aspects of school life. Get involved! Join a committee! Join a club! Give back in some way! I was blessed to be a part of the Saint Lucian Students’ Association in the capacity of Welfare Officer and also the School of Education Representative. Both experiences have been quite fulfilling and provided me with the practical opportunity for my field of study, i.e. Educational Administration.

I am now looking forward to leaving here with a wealth of knowledge and experiences that will indeed benefit my career as an educator.
