The Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning invites you to join the session titled Course Assessments in My eLearning: Online Feedback and Rubrics.
Date: Friday, 9th October 2026
Time: 1:00 p.m.
Venue: Online (Zoom)
Description: Rubrics and feedback provide clear criteria and actionable guidance that transform educational assessments from mere grading tools into active drivers of student learning and self-regulation (Cockett & Jackson, 2018). As an element of teaching excellence, rubrics and feedback also provides faculty/educators with greater grading consistency (validity) and reliability, and can be customized to meet specific assessment goals (Ling, 2024) while accounting for every mark given/removed. This workshop introduces faculty to the effective use of assessment rubrics and feedback tools in My eLearning. Participants will explore how to create and apply rubrics with clearly defined criteria, performance levels, and appropriate assessment weighting to support transparent and consistent grading as well as meaningful feedback to their students.
