This book brings together the findings of the IDRC/UWI/McGill University Eastern Caribbean Flyingfish Project (1987-1993) and subsequent relevant flyingfish research at UWI, Cave Hill Campus. It provides a comprehensive account of the biology and fisheries for the fourwinged flyingfish, Hirundichthys affinis, and the options for management of this valuable transboundary resource. It also summarizes the recent and ongoing initiatives towards management of flyingfish in the region. The book draws from the knowledge and experience of the fishery managers and fishers of the eastern Caribbean and the academic efforts of post-graduate students, UWI faculty and their international collaborators.
