About the Programme

Explore the relationship between word, emotion and meaning.  A Bachelor of Arts degree with a major or minor in Literatures in English combines analysis and writing for understanding and then developing creative content for culturally and socially significant texts.

What Will I Study?

  • Techniques to identify how meaning is produced and communicated

Facilities and Resources

The Department publishes journals devoted to literary criticism and creative writing:
Access seminal texts about the literature and culture of the Caribbean in the Sidney Martin Library’s West Indies Collection (WIC)

Research

Our faculty does research in diasporic writing, Caribbean literature and criticism. We focus on Caribbean Popular Culture, Speculative Fiction and African film.
