  • Find a quiet space in your home where you are not interrupted.
  • Close windows or doors to reduce environmental noises or high wind into the microphone.
  • The area should be well lit to provide a clear video quality. Avoid bright lights behind you. 
  • Keep a clear and clean interview space. This will keep you focus and relaxed. 
Your Self 
  • Dress appropriately as you would a face-to-face interview. 
  • Avoid excessive make-up or shiny jewelry that could reflect back in your camera.
  • Position your body and face within the camera frame
  • Beware of your body language and gestures during the interview. 
Your Technology 
  • Test your video and sound
  • Ensure you close all applications that may distract your interview 
  • Turn off all device notifications and sounds.
  • In the event you have to share content, beware of your computer background and wall paper

An elevator pitch is a snapshot of your experience and careers goals in less than 30 seconds. You should be able to present your goals, skills and passion with confidence quicker than an elevator ride. Hence the name!
