The classes were not only theoretical. We had a lot of practical experiences that were also valid, whether in the classroom, in the various labs or out in the field, these sessions were both informative and enjoyable. The knowledge and experiences gained studying in my field, has thus far, helped to improve not only my quality of life and sporting performances, but also the life and more of those around me.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">I must say, <\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">campus\u202f\u202flife<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"> in its natural state was amazing for me. Being a student-athlete by day and a DJ at night exponentially improved my social life. The networking, the connections, the bonds, the memories and friendships made were just as important as the accolades attained. Now I have friends all over the world to greet me whenever I travel, all thanks to my UWI experience.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.cavehill.uwi.edu\/newsport\/images\/testimonials\/keron-cottoy-1\" style=\"float: left; margin: 10px;\" \/>Being a student-athlete was tough, especially&nbsp;when I had to travel a lot for my sport. Thankfully, I had the Academy of Sport and its&#39; resources supporting me <\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">throughout<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"> my journey. In addition, I had some amazing and understanding lecturers who were also patient and supportive on my journey. The Academy of Sport ensured that the stress and rigors of being away from the classroom were relieved, by putting stringent measures in place to ensure the up-<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">keep\u202f\u202fof<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"> my academic and sporting performances. How awesome! Credit to the Academy of Sport!<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">The sports program was my lifeline. Although&nbsp;I was mainly known for cricket, I was never too shy to take part in other sporting disciplines. Needless to say, being a part of the cricket program at UWI was a dream come true. There is no greater feeling than to wake up everyday doing what you love. Being greeted by a world class cricket field and facilities staged at the entrance to the campus, it is safe to say, &ldquo;T<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">here<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"> aren&rsquo;t many scenes more tranquil!&rdquo;\u202f<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">The cricket program has helped in the improvement of my overall game. Working along with and being exposed to some of the best coaches and players in the region can only stem growth. Coupled with being afforded the opportunity to represent the <\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">Combined\u202f\u202fCampuses<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"> and Colleges (CCC) cricket team on the regional circuit. All these experiences and more gained during my tenure&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\">has<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><span data-ccp-parastyle=\"Normal (Web)\"> opened up a multitude of opportunities geared towards good fortune and an illustrious future.
