Each campus is represented by over&nbsp;one hundred athletes clad in their respective campus colours (Mona-Red, Cave Hill-Yellow and St. Augustine-Blue) to compete. The Games are rotated biennially on each campus&nbsp;and feature sports including Basketball, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Netball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track &amp; Field and Volleyball.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h3><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">Brief History of the Games<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/64\/Images\/About-Us\/UG-logo.png\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 244px; float: left;\">In the mid 1960\u2019s, the Student Intercampus Games began as a student-run event and were an annual fixture from 1968 until 1975 when the Games encountered financial difficulties. However, according to Jai Jebodhsingh, one of the individuals responsible for the continuation of the Games, it was less a question of \u201cif\u201d the Games would continue than \u201chow\u201d.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The University\u2019s administration agreed to take responsibility for the Games and in 1979 a new structure was established \u2013 a biennial schedule, 65-member contingents and six core sporting disciplines plus two others (Football, Cricket, Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball, Netball, Track &amp; Field and Table Tennis). Jai Jebodhsingh, Winford Green and Victor Cowan were the driving forces behind it all, until each retired from Cave Hill, Mona and St. Augustine respectively, in the early years of the new millennium. Interestingly, only Green carried the title \u201cDirector of Sports\u201d. His counterparts headed Student Services at their respective campuses and became deeply involved in the Games because of their love of sports and their connection with the students.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Games have grown over the years, and continue to grow.
