Games Committee Chairperson (GCC)

The Games Committee Chairperson (GCC) is a student representative who sits on the
Guild of Students; the recognised student government at Cave Hill. He/she is the main liaison officer between the Guild and the Academy of Sport, and is responsible for planning, coordinating, organising and overseeing all sporting and gaming events and activities of the
Guild of Students.
Current Representative (Academic Year 2021/22):
Genesis Alfred, a proud citizen of Saint Lucia is an Environmental Science Major at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus. She has a passion for student empowerment, youth development, the ecosystem, and sports and these interests have led her to undertake several leadership roles throughout her years studying both in Saint Lucia and Barbados. Genesis has served on the Guild of Students as the Games Committee Chairperson for the academic years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. She is a netball player and a National Rugby player for Saint Lucia.This young sports enthusiast is ready to lead and serve.
Faculty Representative

The Faculty of Sport Representative is a student representative who sits on the Guild of Students; the recognised student government at Cave Hill. He/she represents the interests of the students of the faculty to the Guild and at the respective Faculty Boards, while operating as the official liaison between the faculty administration, the faculty board and students within the faculty.
Current Representative (Academic Year 2021/22): Roderick Best serves as the representative for the Faculty of Sport for his second consecutive tenure. The 28-year-old student possesses a powerful and impactful compound of passion for, and experience in, sport, pushing him far beyond the benchmark of a satisfactory leader.
He is an accultured UWI student and blackbird athlete. His desire is to explore the vast world of sporting education, and thus, Mr. Best is committed to the study of Exercise and Sports Science.
