About the Facility

Students at Cave Hill can enjoy the services of the Students’ Gym throughout their tenure at the Campus, at no cost. It is located at the Paradise Park (formerly Lazaretto), near the Usain Bolt Sports Complex and is furnished with a wide variety of workout equipment to meet the fitness needs of its users. Two fitness professionals, Ms. Maureen Howard and Mr. Ramon Dodson, are on staff to lend their expertise and the gym is always manned by friendly supervisors when it is open.

The gym comprises the main floor, aerobic rooms and a studio that is perfect for Zumba, aerobics or stretching sessions. Amenities such as bathrooms and lockers are also available. Students must book slots to be able to use the gym.

• Saturdays – 9:00am to 3:00pm
• Closed on Sundays and all public holidays

Facility Use

In order to acess the gym, students are required to book slots in advance, present their student ID for entry and adhere to the following code of conduct:

• Absolutely no slippers or hard shoes are to be worn into the gym.
• Absolutely no jeans or jewellery of any kind are to be worn into the gym. The attire of users must be sportsmanlike
• All soft shoes worn into the gym must be free of mud.
• All users must bring with them a towel. NO TOWEL, NO TRAINING.
• Students are encouraged not to spend more than ten (10) minutes on the cardio machines, especially during peak times.
• NO FOUL LANGUAGE, LOITERING, EXCESSIVE NOISE or PLAYING will be allowed in the gym.
• NO GARBAGE is to be left in the gym; ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD is allowed and all bottles (plastic only) brought in by patrons must be carried out.
• All weights and apparatus are to be replaced on racks after use
• All machines, benches, yoga mats and other equipment with which there is similar body contact, must be cleaned using spray and towel provided
• Consideration must be extended to all persons using the gym at all times.
• Failure to comply with reasonable instructions from a supervisor can result in expulsion from the gym.
