Maureen became interested in fitness when she joined the Barbados Defense Force in 1979. While there, one of her greatest achievements was to attend the U.S. Coast Guard Training Centre, Search and Rescue School, Governors Island, New York where she was awarded a certificate upon completion of the prescribed course of instruction. After leaving the Defence Force she furthered her studies in fitness and started personal training and teaching fitness classes in several gyms across Barbados.
She won the first female 10K race in Barbados and performed favorably throughout the remainder of the 1980s. She became one of Barbados’ top female bodybuilders from 1990 until 2001.
Subsequently, she furthered her Bodybuilding career and represented Barbados, in both the Eastern Caribbean and CAC Bodybuilding Championships.
She has since made a name for myself in the fitness industry and the personal training arena, as a well-rounded fitness professional.
