Study Tour

The Study Tour, organized in collaboration with the Virtual Institute of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), is an integral part of the programme, which provides students with an unparalleled opportunity to see "trade in action". Students have access to meeetings at the World Trade Organization (WTO), and UNCTAD, and attend lectures at various international organizations in Geneva, including WIPO, ITC, ICTSD, IOM, ILO and South Centre to name a few. In addition, students are also affored the opportunity to interface with Ambassadors representing their country and the region's trade policy.

In order to facilitate the processing of visas as soon as possible after the start of the second semester, students are to ensure that their passports are valid for more than six months after the travel date (i.e. May/June).  This is to avoid delays in processing of visas and other administrative activities.

Students are asked to ensure that they budget at least BDS$3,000.00 towards personal living expenses while on the study tour to cover transportation costs, meals, laundry and other miscellaneous costs. In addition, as stated earlier, the cost of accommodation and airfare will be covered by the BDS$5,000.00 which is included in the programme costs, this must be paid BEFORE the start of the tour and is the responsibility of ALL students.

As the study tour is a part of the assessment requirements in fulfillment of the Practical component, students are required to attend ALL sessions. Absence during the study tour will only be allowed for reason of illness.
