
Dr. Alfred Walkes has been a Lecturer in Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management since 2008. He is the Co-ordinator for the MSc. Marketing programme, and is credited for his constant emphasis on innovating and changing the programme to meet the dynamic needs of the regional marketing professional. During his tenure at Cave Hill Campus , Dr. Walkes has been the recipient of consistently excellent student evaluations and in 2019 received a Student Guild Recognition Award for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning.
An expert in entrepreneurship and business planning, Dr. Walkes has, for many years, offered consultative advice to small businesses, primarily under the auspices of the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme of Barbados. He is also the Consultant for Business Planing Preparation for the Cave Hill students enrolled in the Student Entreprenurial Empowerment Development Programme (SEED). His contribution and innovativeness have been recognised at the national level with the Prime Minister’s Awards for Innovation’ in 2004 and 2012. He was also rated Best Facilitator in a National Agripreneurship Training Programme by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2018.
Dr. Walkes likes to walk to relax as well as to keep fit. He also enjoys gardening and reading a good book.
