About the Programme

Desire a career in academia or in consulting at the highest level? Then an MPhil or a PhD in Management Studies is an excellent option for you. Undertaking the MPhil/PhD in Management Studies will set you on the path to becoming an expert in your area of study, provide a gateway for making a real contribution to business knowledge, and place you in a community of academics who have presented/published in top local, regional and international conferences/journals.

An MPhil or a Masters of Philosophy degree is done by thesis. On completion, students may be allowed to upgrade to the PhD programme after an assessment of the work done for the MPhil is conducted by the relevant faculty.

There are two paths to a PhD in the Cave Hill School of Business and Management :-
  1. PhD by thesis. This requires the completion of a full thesis (approximately 80,000-100,000 words)
  2. PhD by publication. This option requires the candidate to achieve three publications in highly rated international journals.  The target journals will be stipulated by the candidate’s Advisory Committee.
