Master of Science in Taxation and Policy

About the Programme

The MSc in Taxation and Policy is a dynamic, practice-oriented graduate programme designed to develop advanced expertise in taxation, policy analysis, and strategic decision-making. It equips students with the analytical capability and professional insight required to navigate the complexities of Caribbean, regional, and global tax environments, and to lead effectively in tax advisory, compliance, policy development, and reform across both public and private sectors.

Rooted in the Caribbean context and aligned with international best practices, the curriculum addresses critical areas such as corporate taxation, international tax planning, tax treaties, transfer pricing, tax risk management, and the digitalisation of tax administration. Particular emphasis is placed on the region’s unique fiscal structures, the implications of cross-border trade and investment, and the growing demands for transparency, economic substance, and anti-avoidance measures under evolving global tax standards.

Delivered through a blend of case-based learning, comparative policy analysis, and practical simulations, the programme enables students to engage with real-world tax challenges affecting small developing states and larger jurisdictions alike. Graduates emerge well prepared to contribute to the design and implementation of fair, robust, and future-ready tax systems that support sustainable economic development and global compliance.

What Will I Study?

  •  International and regional tax policies in the context of fiscal sustainability, economic competitiveness, and equity, with particular attention to the unique challenges facing small island developing states (SIDS).

  •  Strategic tax planning solutions for individuals and corporations that comply with international tax standards, including OECD/G20 initiatives such as BEPS and the Global Minimum Tax.
