Our tuition is internationally competitive and we offer payment plans to make university education available to our students.

• Tuition fee US $29,250.00 – Payable to the SCHSBM
• Ground School Training Programme US $16,800.00 – Payable to the SCHSBM
• Flight School Training Programme US $92,275.00 – Payable to CAE

University Registration Fees 

These fees are as follows:

Applicants must satisfy the following general requirements for admission into the Faculty of Social Sciences:
• Minimum of five (5) CSEC (CXC) General Proficiency (Grades I-III) or GCE subjects
• Compulsory – English Language, Mathematics
• Passes in at least two 2-unit CAPE subjects/two GCE Advanced level subjects or the equivalent OR An Associate Degree from an approved Tertiary Level Institute with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or above

Applicants must also satisfy the following admission requirements to undergo training at CAE:

1. Admission Requirements
   •  Candidates must be able to legally live and work in at least one of the following CARICOM member states:

     • Dominica
     • Antigua and Barbuda
     • Grenada
     • Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
     • Saint Lucia

     • Dominican Republic
     • Barbados

*Candidates from countries other than those listed above may be admitted subject to the discretion of the Parties.

• Minimum Age: 18 years old at the start date of the programme
• Education: Equivalent to UWI’s minimum matriculation requirements
• Physical & Medical Requirements: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Category 1 Medical Certificate issued by the Barbados Civil Aviation Department (BCAD) and the FAA
• Language Skills: Fluency in English, both written & spoken; a minimum of ICAO level 4 English Language proficiency

      2. Candidate Screening

The Candidates will submit applications via UWI’s regular application portals and process. CAE will screen all applications against the Eligibility Criteria specified above. Candidates that meet the Eligibility Criteria will be invited to undergo an Aptitude Assessment.

      3. Aptitude Assessment

CAE will utilize the ADAPT test as an aptitude assessment tool. The objective of ADAPT is to identify suitable and trainable Trainees for the Course. CAE will charge each Candidate an assessment fee.
The ADAPT test will at a minimum include:

• Advanced Personality Questionnaire (APQ) – to provide insight into a person's values, motivation, attitude and behaviour
• Cognitive Test – working memory, general math and physics, perceptual speed and accuracy and spatial relationship reasoning
• FAST – a multi-tasking and learning assessment made up of physical, cognitive and situational elements
• Math – an academic test, aligned to an 18+ educational level of mathematics; equivalent to the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE)
• Physics – an academic test, aligned to an 18+ educational level of physics

      4. Trainee Selection

On completion of the ADAPT test CAE will provide Candidate reports to the other Parties, as well as a recommendation on which Candidates should be selected as Trainees. The Parties will mutually make the final selection of Trainees, taking into account the ADAPT results, as well as other relevant data which may be provided as part of the application process. For the avoidance of doubt, Candidates who are not selected to become Trainees for the Course, may continue to be eligible for acceptance into other courses and programmes provided by UWI.
