Professor Dwayne Devonish

Professor of Management and Organisational Behaviour

In 2020, Dwayne Devonish became the youngest Professor at any of the five campuses of the University of the West Indies.  He moved from Assistant Lecturer to Professor of Management and Organisational Behaviour in just twelve (12) years.  Professor Devonish is well published in highly rated academic journals, and is increasingly called upon by government and the business community as a Consultant in areas of organisational psychology, organisational development, workplace wellness and business and social research. 

He was the Lead Developer and Author of the Workplace Wellness Policy for the nation of Barbados, a set of recommendations completed in 2019. Professor Devonish has developed a reputation at the Cave Hill Campus for explaining complex statistical techniques with ease, and earns consistently excellent student evaluations for his effective teaching style and relaxed classroom environment.  In 2019, he received a Certificate of Recognition for High Quality Teaching and Contribution to Student Learning from Guild of Students, UWI Cave Hill Campus.

Professor Devonish makes time to run as a mean of keeping himself mentally and physically fit, and delights in sharing anecdotes about his beloved maternal grandmother Sybil.
