Results-based Management for the Public Sector

Registration is Open

Overview

Globalisation, intense competition, and the rapid development of new technologies have been forcing organisations to make performance a priority, and focus more intensely on ensuring that their projects, programmes and services achieve all intended results. Consequently, organisations worldwide have been taking steps to better manage and measure the outcomes of their projects and programmes using the principles and practice of Results-based Management (RBM). With consideration to this reality, the SCHSBM’s Results-based Management for the Public Sector programme offers delegates the opportunity to develop high level managerial skills that are vital to achieving and sustaining optimal organisational performance. Specifically, delegates will acquire a thorough understanding of the concepts, principles, and practice of Results-Based Management (RBM). Moreover, they will gain insight into the rationale for and benefits of RBM, and develop the skills required to effectively plan, develop, deliver, monitor, and evaluate their organisation’s policies, projects, progammes, and business activities using RBM principles, tools and techniques. On successful completion of the programme, delegates will possess the competence and confidence to lead and support RBM practices in their organisation.

Programme Goals

The goals of the programme are to:

  • Encourage delegates to bring results to the forefront of all their organisation’s activities.
  •  Provide delegates with the opportunity to acquire insight into what it takes to successfully implement RBM interventions in their organisations.
  •  Introduce delegates to the tools and methods commonly used for the design and implementation of RBM interventions.
  •  Endow delegates with the competencies needed to make RBM a success for their organisations.

Learning Objectives

On completion of the programme, leaders will be able to:

  • Define essential RBM terminologies.
  •  Explain the rationale for and benefits of RBM.
  •  Evaluate and plan their organisation’s policies, projects, progammes, and business activities using RBM principles, tools and techniques.
