{"id":25,"date":"2019-06-13T15:25:54","date_gmt":"2019-06-13T19:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/salises\/library-information\/"},"modified":"2026-03-02T08:43:59","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T12:43:59","slug":"library-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/salises\/library\/library-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Library Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"container-fluid salises-wrapper\">\n<section class=\"row\">\n<div id=\"main-content\">\n<div id=\"sub_content\" class=\"bodytext\">\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h2 class=\"page-title\">Library Information<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-size:24px;\">Access and Circulation Policies<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div><strong>The Audine Wilkinson Library<\/strong> is a research library which has been designated to reading room status, that is, the items may only be used in the library.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tThe library&nbsp;is open to the following persons:<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\" editable=\"rich\">\n<ul>\n<li>Academic staff<\/li>\n<li>Professional staff<\/li>\n<li>Research staff<\/li>\n<li>Senior Administrative staff<\/li>\n<li>Permanent Administrative, Technical and Support (ATS) staff of The UWI&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Registered Graduate Students<\/li>\n<li>Researchers (from other academic and non-academic institutions). &nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div>\n\t\t\t\t\tIf you wish to use the library for personal research, please contact the Librarian at (246) 417-4063.<\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-size:24px;\">Use of the Library<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>You are advised to follow the guidelines below:<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\" editable=\"rich\">\n<ol>\n<li>Eating and drinking are strictly forbidden.<\/li>\n<li>Cell phones should be turned off or placed on vibrate.<\/li>\n<li>Briefcases, bags, etc. must be stored in the lockers provided.<\/li>\n<li>All users must present valid identification.<\/li>\n<li>All users must complete the Library&#8217;s registration form which is obtained from the circulation desk and is valid for one academic year.<\/li>\n<li>Only The UWI Cave Hill academic staff members may be given limited borrowing privileges for (two weeks) when items are unavailable from the Sidney Martin Library, UWI, Cave Hill.<\/li>\n<li>Please note that publications which are rare, fragile, reference material, bound journals or newspapers may NOT be removed from the Library.<\/li>\n<li>External researchers who require research to be done by library staff may be charged a fee of&nbsp;$25.00 per hour&nbsp;or part thereof.<\/li>\n<li>Copying\/printing may be done in the library at a cost of 25 cents per page.<\/li>\n<li>Consultant reports, theses and fragile documents will NOT be copied.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-size:24px;\">Lost\/Damaged Material<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\tAny user who damages or loses an item will be charged the current cost of replacement of that item in addition to administrative charges.&nbsp; <strong>If the item is found and returned, the replacement charge will be refunded but there will be a non-refundable $20.00 service charge per item.<\/strong><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>NOTES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"lc-block\" editable=\"rich\">\n<ul>\n<li>The Library is part of the UWI, Cave Hill Library network and books borrowed will be counted against their total allowance.<\/li>\n<li>Books borrowed may be renewed if they have not been reserved by another user, in that case, it may be recalled. A borrower who fails to return a book after it has been recalled by three notices will have their borrowing privileges suspended until the book is returned.<\/li>\n<li>The Librarian reserves the right to deny reading room privileges to any user based on&nbsp;pre-established lending criteria e.g. out-of-print, rare or fragile documents.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Library Information Access and Circulation Policies The Audine Wilkinson Library is a research library which has been designated to reading room status, that is, the items may only be used in the library.
