Activities undertaken by CHORI increasingly depended on community involvement, including the academic community, the corporate and government community and business support communities. As a result, the Office was renamed to include the word &#8216;community&#8217;, reflecting the importance of links with key stakeholders.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h2>RICCH and UWI Strategic Plan<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\" editable=\"rich\">\n<p>The primary function of RICCH is to engage&nbsp;with several stakeholders, both internal and external to the Campus, to support milestones of The UWI Strategic Plan. RICCH makes a contribution in the areas of research, innovation and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\" editable=\"rich\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/uwi.edu\/uop\/strategic-plan-uwi-triple-strategy.\">UWI Strategic Plan 2022-27<\/a> is titled &#8216;The Triple \u2018A\u2019 Strategy, Phase II: The Revenue Revolution&#8217; rests upon three primary pillars: Access (AC), Alignment (AL), and Agility (AG).<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRICCH contributes to all objectives of the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwi.edu\/uop\/strategic-plan-uwi-triple-strategy.\" target=\"_blank\">UWI Strategic Plan<\/a> but especially to the following:<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h3>Access<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\" editable=\"rich\">\n<p><em>Objective AC4 &#8211; Improving the quality, quantity and impact of research, innovation and publication.<\/em><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<strong>Role of RICCH &#8211; <\/strong>Enable the expansion of support and coordination of research and innovation\/commercialisation activities. &nbsp;\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h3>Alignment&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<em>Objective AL 2 &#8211;&nbsp; Increase grants for academic and applied research to contribute to the bottom-line of the University.&nbsp;<\/em><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<strong>Role of RICCH<\/strong> &#8211; Host training workshops on grant preparation and management and frequently distribute grant funding opportunities.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<br type=\"_moz\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<em>Objective AL 3 &#8211;&nbsp; Pursue commercially viable projects to increase revenue from commercial operations<\/em>.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<strong>Role of RICCH<\/strong> &#8211; Actively engage with members of the Campus community to identify and develop commercial outcomes from research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h3>Agility<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<em> Objective AG 1 &#8211;&nbsp;Restore financial health to The UWI.<\/em><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<strong>Role of RICCH<\/strong> &#8211; Facilitate&nbsp;the commercialisation of research outputs which can generate financial returns for the researcher and institution, as well as for the end user and the country.&nbsp;<br type=\"_moz\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tRICCH is headed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/deputy-principal\/staff\/professor-winston-moore.aspx\">Deputy Principal<\/a> and is supported by staff from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/deputy-principal\/home.aspx\">Office of the Deputy Principal<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/principal\/biography.aspx\">Office of the Principal<\/a> and representatives from other departments making up the Innovate Cave Hill virtual network.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/ricch\/about-us\/meet-the-committee\/\">Meet the RICCH Committee \u00bb<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h1 class=\"page-header\"><\/h1>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\t\t<br class=\"clear\">\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About Us Home The Office of Research, Innovation and Community at Cave Hill (RICCH) was first&nbsp;established in 2017 as the Cave Hill Campus Office of Research and Innovation (CHORI).
