Start a new company to develop and sell the new product, service or system.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t2. License the IP to a company or companies for royalties, so that they can manufacture, market and distribute it.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t3. Assign (sell) the IP, like how you sell a house or car.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t4. Protect the IP but do not commercialise (this is a conversation for another time!).<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t5. Do nothing. This really is not a commercialisation method; it is a missed opportunity.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h2>Types of IP<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tMost often, we hear about patenting an invention but not all commercially viable ideas can be or should be patented.
