About RICCH <\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Office of Research, Innovation and Community at Cave Hill (RICCH) was first established in 2017 as the Cave Hill Campus Office of Research and Innovation (CHORI). Activities undertaken by CHORI increasingly depended on community involvement, including the academic, corporate, government in addition to business support communities. As a result, the Office was renamed to include the word 'community', reflecting the importance of links with key stakeholders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

RICCH and UWI Strategic Plan<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
RICCH contibutes to the UWI Strategic Plan 2022-27<\/a>, 'The Triple ‘A’ Strategy, Phase II: The Revenue Revolution' which rests on three primary pillars: Access (AC), Alignment (AL), and Agility (AG).
\n
\n RICCH contributes to all objectives of The UWI Strategic Plan<\/a> but especially to the following:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Access<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Objective AC4 – Increase the quality and quantity of high impact research.<\/em>
\nRole of RICCH – <\/strong>Support researchers in building their publication profile through the annual Author Fellowship Program. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\n
Alignment <\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Objective AL1 – Increase grants for academic and applied research to contribute to the bottom-line of the University. <\/em>
\nRole of RICCH<\/strong> – Host training workshops on grant preparation and management, and frequently distribute grant funding opportunities.
\n

\nObjective AL3 – Pursue commercially viable projects to increase revenues from commercial operations<\/em>.
\nRole of RICCH<\/strong> – Actively engage with members of the Campus community to transfer research findings to commercially viable products or services. <\/p>\n

\n
Agility<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Objective AG1 – Restore financial health to The UWI.<\/em>
\nRole of RICCH<\/strong> – Facilitate the commercialisation of research outputs which can generate financial returns for the researcher and institution, as well as for the end user and the country.

\nRICCH is headed by the Deputy Principal<\/a> and is supported by staff from the Office of the Deputy Principal<\/a>, Office of the Principal<\/a> and representatives from other departments.<\/p>\n
