Dear Student,
 
Within the Faculty of Social Sciences automatic exemptions with credit are given to students who have completed some CAPE subjects and some BCC Associate Degree programmes. Please click here (the Faculty of Social Sciences 2022-2023 Handbook (Interim) page 20 and page 21 respectively) to view the CAPE subjects and the BCC Associate Degree programmes subject to courses taken in the programme that would make you eligible for the exemption(s). 
 
Kindly note the criteria for exemption(s). If you have met the criteria and have not yet received your exemption, (available from Monday, August 29, 2022, and will be noted on your transcript), please send us an email at socsciadmissions@cavehill.uwi.edu.
 
If you have not met the criteria outlined in the Handbook but wish to be considered for an exemption based on a course or courses you may have completed at your College, you are asked to contact/visit the Faculty of Social Sciences to discuss the same (you must have a GPA of 2.75 and above and have completed the Associate Degree to be considered).
 
I take this opportunity to indicate to those students who are awaiting results from CAPE, that the results should be brought to the Student Affairs, Admissions office no later than September 30, 2022, those exemptions will be updated to your student record within the period October 3 – 21, 2022.
