The Department of Literary, Cultural and Communication Studies at The UWI St. Augustine Campus, will host the International Media & Communication Conference 2026 from June 24–26, 2026, under the theme “The Digital Nexus: Media and Communication in the Age of AI.”

Venue: Lecture Theatre 1, Faculty of Engineering, St. Augustine Campus
As artificial intelligence reshapes media production, distribution, consumption, governance, and communication practice, the conference invites academics, media professionals, students, policymakers, researchers, and industry stakeholders to explore these transformations through Caribbean and Global South perspectives. Featured speakers include Prof. Farooq Kperogi, Keynote Speaker, along with Spotlight Speakers Dr. Craig Ramlal and Ms. Andrea A. Jacobs. The conference also invites submissions that contribute to critical conversations on how AI is connecting ideas, communities, and futures locally and globally.
