The UWI Cave Hill Campus has added over 50 new degree programmes to its suite of offerings for the new academic year.
 

Over 400 regional students at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus have been hailed as heroes for their courageous fieldwork at the height of a COVID-19 resurgence in Barbados earlier this year.
 

Addressing the Eminent Speaker Series of the UWI Cave Hill, Faculty of Law recently, Coke-Hamilton who is the Executive Director of the Switzerland-based development agency, the International Trade Centre (ITC), said small states should embrace a feminist trade policy in the same way they should embrace a strong foreign policy or a humane social policy.
 

Speaking at a Vice Chancellor’s Forum and Distinguished Arthur Lewis Event on the topic ‘Sustainable Island Futures’ on Monday, the Prime Minister highlighted the need for education reform to allow all students an opportunity to reach their full potential. However, she said such reform is being hampered by scarce resources. 
 

Dean of The University of the West Indies Faculty of Sport, Dr Akshai Mansingh is intent on transforming sporting facilities at the four landed campuses of the regional university towards net zero carbon emissions. In so doing, the facilities would be powered entirely by renewable energy sources.

Prime Minister of Grenada, Dr. the Honourable Keith Mitchell has called for immediate, decisive action on climate change and warned that lives and livelihoods continue to be at stake. Prime Minister Mitchell said the unifying nature of sports provides a platform to advocate for change, as has been done historically.

The Honourable Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados has called for a debt repayment system for Caribbean countries similar to what was granted to Britain after World War II that allowed that country to have the fiscal space to return to a path of development.

Last Friday, members of the business, political and academic communities joined his family in a ceremony at The UWI Cave Hill Campus to celebrate his legacy as a committed regionalist, and brilliant economist among other accolades, with the renaming of the CARICOM building in his honour. 
 

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) congratulates Dr Carla Natalie Barnett who was announced as the 8^th Secretary-General of CARICOM on Tuesday May 11, 2020. The two-time UWI graduate has made history as the first woman to be appointed to the post.

Wednesday, May 12, 2021.— The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is pleased to announce Professor Clive Landis as the next Principal of its Cave Hill Campus in Barbados. Professor Landis’ appointment was confirmed at The UWI’s annual business meeting of its University Council on April 30. The appointment was approved by the University Council, following a recommendation from Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles.
