Professor Sir Hilary Beckles has reached out to global development partners in an attempt to secure support for the University’s financial sustainability and readiness to lead the post-COVID, economic transformation of the region.

Infectious Disease Specialist, Dr Farley R. Cleghorn has responded to the announcement of an endowment established by The University of the West Indies Medical Alumni Association (UWIMAA), with a generous donation of US $250,000.

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is pleased to announce the conferral of the title of ‘Emeritus’ on seven retired Professors. The decision on the conferrals was made during a virtual University Finance and General Purposes Committee meeting held in late October.

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is pleased to announce the conferral of the title of ‘Honorary Professor’ on Professor Hamid Ghany for his significant contributions to Constitutional and Parliamentary Affairs at The UWI and across the region. Professor Ghany is currently serving at the University on attachment to the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES), St. Augustine Campus. His appointment Honorary Professor is for the period October 1, 2021 to July 31, 2023.
