{"id":68,"date":"2018-06-20T13:06:43","date_gmt":"2018-06-20T12:06:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/lifelong-learning\/credits-and-awards\/"},"modified":"2025-05-15T02:36:57","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T01:36:57","slug":"credits-and-awards","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cavehill.uwi.edu\/lifelong-learning\/about-us\/credits-and-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Credits and Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<section>\n<div class=\"p-0 container-fluid\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<h3>CREDITS AND AWARDS<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<hr><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<p><strong class=\"rfs-5\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCertificates Awarded<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDelegates will receive one of the following certificates, depending on the type of short course:\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Certificate of Completion<\/strong> \u2013 awarded for short courses which include a form of assessment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Professional Development Certificate of Competence<\/strong> \u2014awarded for short courses, which include formal assessment and do not require an undergraduate degree for entry.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Postgraduate Professional Development Certificate of Competence<\/strong> \u2014awarded for short courses designed at the Postgraduate level which include formal assessment, and postgraduate standalone&nbsp;modules. These courses require the applicant to have an undergraduate degree for entry.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Certificate Programme Designation- <\/strong>awarded upon successful completion of a&nbsp;number of courses within a particular discipline\/subject area&nbsp;specified by the Centre&nbsp; (e.g. Certificate in Strategic Marketing, Certificate in Fundamentals of Gaming Development). These certificates can consist solely of short courses, solely of postgraduate modules or a combination of both.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"lc-block\">\n<div editable=\"rich\">\n<p><strong class=\"rfs-5\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCEUs and PDUs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSome of the Centre\u2019s professional development offerings will carry Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Professional Development Units (PDUs). CEUs are a recognized measurement of non-credit course work, which can be credited towards designations and memberships in varying associations, and professional bodies. The awarding policy for CEUs may vary across professional bodies and associations.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThough varying professional bodies and associations will assign CEUs to the Centre\u2019s courses based on their individual requirements, the CPDLL has its own CEU awarding policy for its Professional Development courses (i.e. one (1.0) CEU may be awarded for every ten (10) hours of participation in an approved short course).<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tProfessional Development Units (PDUs) refers to the educational metric that Project Management Institute (PMI) credential holders must achieve to maintain their PMI credentials.
