Overview

Digital marketing is fast becoming one of the primary ways which businesses market themselves, and it has become critical that firms are at the forefront of online marketing in order to keep up with the competition. As such, digital marketing professionals are increasingly sought after. In this cutting-edge course, you will gain an introductory knowledge of the latest theories and discourse in the ever-changing digital marketing landscape and be able to critique digital marketing channels and provide recommendations based upon this critique. You will learn how to develop an implementable and SMART digital strategy; how to optimize management of social and digital channels, and how to develop individualized customer profiles for better targeting.

The following subject areas will be addressed:
  • Introduction to Digital Marketing – Why Should We Do It?
  • Digital Marketing Planning and Strategy
  • Social Media Management and Analytics
  • Advertising and Case Critiques

Students must have a basic knowledge of marketing whether in a traditional or digital sense, and must acquaint themselves with some of the terminology within the marketing field. For example, students must come equipped with at least a basic knowledge of social media, customer profiles, targeting and strategy

Each day of the course will consist of a 60 minute lecture with discussion of topics, a 60 minute practical workshop and 60 minutes working on a project with mentoring support.

Gareth Beeston is Managing Director of Other World Escapes, a team-building activity based in the UK. He has had 3 years experience teaching digital marketing and 5 years experience consulting. Gareth was previously a senior partner for a local digital marketing consultancy based in Southampton, UK. Gareth is passionate about digital marketing and its position within the marketing field.
