Logistics and Operations Management

Strategic Logistics and Supply Chain Management for non-LSCM professionals

Overview

Logistical (movement of goods from manufacturer to final consumer) expertise creates cost efficiencies which can be passed on as reduced prices/increased value to consumers. Effective supply chain management, (the management of relationships between supplier, manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer) also creates value that can generate competitive advantage for every member of the supply chain. This course presents the strategic role of logistics and supply chain management by examining the practice of logistics and supply chain management, as well as the link between logistics and supply chain strategy and overall corporate and marketing strategy. In summary, this course is intended to strengthen the internal coordination between the LSCM function and other functions within corporations, as well as equip you with the skills to maximise supply chains to achieve competitive advantage.
