Overview

The modern corporation faces fierce competition not only in the product markets, but the capital markets as well. Accordingly, knowing how to create and maximize a company’s value is an essential tool for finance professionals. This course therefore seeks to help delegates develop the analytical skills needed for determining and enhancing the value of a firm.

What will I Learn?

On successful completion this course, delegates will be able to:
  • Design working capital management strategies;
  • Evaluate corporate financial risk and recommend appropriate risk management strategies;
  • Evaluate capital investment projects including the impact of real options;
  • Discuss the workings of the capital markets and their interactions with the corporation;
  • Evaluate financing alternatives and design optimal financing strategies.

Individuals who meet the entry requirements for postgraduate level training, including professionals across varied functions, such as general managers, senior finance professionals and business developers who want to design working capital management strategies, evaluate corporate financial risk, evaluate financing alternatives and design optimal financing strategies

Important Information

  • Applicants must bring all required documentation to the Department of Management Studies, Graduate Section, for their application to be processed.
  • Individuals applying for postgraduate modules, whose native language is not English, must take tests,  to demonstrate English Language proficiency prior to registration, as identified in the Manual of Procedures re: Regulations for Graduate Diplomas and Degrees (Sec. 1, Para. 5).

For entry into this course, applicants must have at least an undergraduate degree, or five (5) years relevant work experience. Applicants may also be asked to provide an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae.

The course will be delivered through interactive lectures, case analyses, journal article studies, and class discussions. The use of various technological media such as Power-point and video presentations will be incorporated in each session to aid in the delivery of the course material.
