Overview

Successful retailers work to ensure that their customers get the right products at the right prices, at the right time and in the best condition possible. In order to ensure consumer satisfaction and loyalty, retailers must also effectively manage their own brands through the appearance, atmospherics and customer service culture of their establishments. This course provides retail business owners, retail managers, retails supervisors and marketing and sales personnel working in the retail environment, with the fundamentals of effective retail marketing and includes insights into how retail marketing activities can be more smoothly and profitably aligned to the logistics and supply chain management functions.

What will I Learn?

By the end of the course, delegates should be able to:

  • Design retail environments that heighten the customer experience;
  • Design store layouts to achieve corporate goals (sales, customer experience, branding, etc.);
  • Maximise supply chain profits through a deeper understanding of the supply chain implications of retail marketing;
  • Manage omnichannel and multichannel supply chains.

Previous schooling and academic achievements are not required for entry into this short course. Delegates are however expected to have basic literacy skills.
 

The course will be delivered face to face using a combination of methods inclusive of lectures, discussions, case studies and computer simulations and videos.
 

Stacia Howard

Stacia Howard is the Managing Director of Antilles Economics, where she leads business development and heads the intelligence gathering and strategy areas of the business. She has worked on research projects for a wide range of public, private, multilateral and non-profit organizations. Prior to founding Antilles Economics, Ms. Howard was the Strategy and Economic Analyst at CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank and held various roles at the Central Bank of Barbados, culminating with Senior Economist. Ms. Howard holds a MA in International Business and Languages from Heriot-Watt University. She currently lectures in Logistics and Supply Chain Management 1 and Logistics and Supply Chain Management 2, both masters level courses, at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies.
