Overview

This course examines the basic principles and methods for contracting, procurement and disbursement involved in Project Management. Delegates will explore the processes used to procure goods, works, services, as well as acquire resources for completion and fulfilment of requirements of projects funded by international financial institutions.

What will I Learn?

After completing the course, you should be able to:
  • Implement all aspect of project procurement, within the appropriate guidelines and in accordance with the overall project schedule;
  • Identify the basic requirements, design and administer a legally binding contract with suppliers, contractors and consultants; and,
  • Prepare claims for disbursement of funds from international funding agencies.

Who Should do this Course

Individuals who meet the entry requirements for postgraduate level training, including persons who are involved in procurement, purchasing or sourcing managers, vendor or product evaluation/selection managers and project managers who want to be able to implement all aspects of project procurement, within the appropriate guidelines and in accordance with the overall project schedule.

Important Information

  • Applicants must bring all required documentation to the Department of Management Studies, Graduate Section, for their application to be processed.
  • Individuals applying for postgraduate modules, whose native language is not English, must take tests,  to demonstrate English Language proficiency prior to registration, as identified in the Manual of Procedures re: Regulations for Graduate Diplomas and Degrees (Sec. 1, Para. 5).
