Overview

In an environment of increasingly faster growing data volumes, business analytics is becoming an even more critical capability for enterprises of all types and sizes. Business analytics is therefore an integral part of modern management, and as a result, graduates with skills in business analytics are increasingly in-demand in the job market. This course introduces delegates to the field of business analytics, an area of business administration that considers the extensive use of data, methods, and fact based management to support and improve decision making. Topics to be covered are inclusive of: the evolution of business analytics, descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics.

  • Appraise business problems and determine most suitable analytical methods

Who Should do this Course

Individuals who meet the entry requirements for postgraduate level training, including professionals in the analytics field; individuals who are expected to complete some business analysis work as part of their role; persons who want to develop the skills necessary to analyze business situations and solve business problems.

  • Individuals applying for postgraduate modules, whose native language is not English, must take tests,  to demonstrate English Language proficiency prior to registration, as identified in the Manual of Procedures re: Regulations for Graduate Diplomas and Degrees (Sec. 1, Para. 5).

For entry into this course, applicants must have at least an undergraduate degree, or five (5) years relevant work experience. Applicants may also be asked to provide an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae.
This course will provide both a sound base of learning and an opportunity to test and develop skill through a combination of lectures, in-class and online discussions, and group/individual exercises. Students will actively participate in the delivery of this course through case analyses and presentations.  The use of various technological media such as Power-point and video presentations will also be incorporated in each session to aid in the delivery of the course material.
