In recent years, R has been one of the most preferred programming languages used by data scientists. R’s flexibility as a software means that it has the capabilities to perform the necessary tasks for various fields in data analytics. In fact, one such field where R is increasingly used is in the financial sector. Against this backdrop, this course is intended for those who have knowledge of and experience using R, and would like to further advance or develop their experiences with advanced statistical methods using R.
On successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
This course will focus on the application of advanced statistical methods using ‘R’. Delegates will build on their previous knowledge of R by exploring and leveraging the numerous capabilities of this powerful programming language. The course will cover topics such as functional programming, object-oriented programming, data visualization using R, and web scraping and text mining in R. Thus, delegates will be engaged in extensive practical activities designed to facilitate their application of these statistical methods using the R tool.
The following topics will be addressed:
Applicants must have a basic understanding of R programming language.
Applicants must have a background and/ or experience in data science, data analytics, statistics, information technology or a related field.
This course will be delivered using the online modality. Delegates will be engaged through lectures and practical activities. Lectures will be used to deliver core knowledge and explain theories. The practical activities will be used to demonstrate the use of different software and programming tools such as R and RStudio.
