Overview

Good finances are important for running a successful business, as it is a sign of a sustainable business model and make it easier to pay bills and put money in your pocket. Sadly, managing finances can be a daunting task for many entrepreneurs. This course will provide learners with the accounting language's essentials. It is also designed to strengthen the start-up ecosystem in the Caribbean by providing business development support for early stage entrepreneurs who need to develop the business acumen to manage basic finances of their business. Upon completion, entrepreneurs should be able to understand finance fundamentals; and read, interpret and develop financial statements for business diagnosis and decision-making.

What will I Learn?

By the end of the course, delegates should be able to:
  1. Apply basic accounting principles to business practise.
  2. Develop and effectively use appropriate and relevant financial statements
  3. Use the percent of sales forecasting technique to determine business feasibility
  4. Use the EBITDA formula to calculate start-up value

Who Should do this Course

Entrepreneurs operating their business for no less than 12 months, who are looking for a hands on approach to managing finances and who want to strengthen their capacity to develop and analyze financial statements in order to maintain a sustainable business model.
