For entry into this course, applicants must have at least an undergraduate degree, or five (5) years relevant work experience. Applicants may also be asked to provide an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae.
This module will be delivered mainly through lectures that will highlight the theoretical underpinnings, models and general framework of event operations and the importance of quality management. There is a wealth of literature available and the event industry is welcoming this transfer of knowledge in order to successfully deliver both small and large scale events which are becoming increasingly more complex and driven by a demand for higher standards and professionalism. Formal input, class discussion and video material as appropriate will be used during the lecture programme. A high level of interactivity involving discussions and debates will mainly characterise class activities. Student participation will also be encouraged to participate in tutorials and workshop sessions. Learning activities will also include oral presentations of assigned seminar tasks.
