My name is Darrion Poyotte-Lionel, and it is both an honour and a joy to serve as your Faculty of Law Representative for the 2025–2026 academic year.

To all our incoming students, welcome to the Cave Hill Faculty of Law, a place where dreams are shaped, lifelong friendships are formed, and the foundations of meaningful impact are built. Here, you’re not just joining a faculty, you’re stepping into a proud legacy, a vibrant community, and a shared purpose that connects us all as future guardians of justice.

At Cave Hill, we strive not only for academic excellence but for personal and collective growth. The Cave Hill Law Society, one of the most dynamic and dedicated societies across the UWI campuses, is here to support you every step of the way, academically, professionally, mentally, physically, and socially. You can look forward to a year filled with enriching events, support systems, and unforgettable memories. Success is like a bank account; you cannot cash cheques for amounts greater than what you’ve deposited.

If you want to reap the rewards, you must be willing to make the investment: time, discipline, curiosity, and resilience. So, show up for yourself. Engage with your classes, your community, and your passion. Every lecture, tutorial, and late-night study session is a deposit into your future.

This path will stretch you, challenge you, and at times overwhelm you. But it will also empower you, inspire you, and awaken parts of you that you never knew existed. You are here because you belong here. And when you walk across that graduation stage, I hope you do so not just with your LLB in hand, but with a full heart, a clear purpose, and a fire to make our region, and the world, a better place.
